Strategy and Operations

Our Strategy and Operations practice sits at the heart of our most successful transformations. While our work covers a range of technological and customer issues, across industries as diverse as energy, fashion, financial services and FMCG, there is always a need to ensure that business strategy and change delivery are aligned.

We work closely with Senior Management in our clients to understand and articulate their strategy, and the practical implication of that strategy in terms of Customer and Digital Strategies, Target Operating Model design, Data Strategy and Supply-chain reinvention and whatever else is required to make sure it really works.

With our work, we aim to make sure every moving part of our clients’ business is aligned to deliver their strategy. We find, explain and fix potential conflict and help to build a long-term future for our clients that really sticks. Our appetite to join all the dots between strategy and Slalom’s phenomenal delivery capability drives results for our clients, and leads to repeat business for us time and again.

Desired Skills

  • Strategy development (Commercial, Operational, Digital and /or Customer lenses);
  • Due diligence across Commercial, Operations, Customer and technology;
  • Post-merger integration planning and implementation;
  • Industry- and regulatory-body engagement strategy;
  • Target Operating Model design, ideally some implementation;
  • Strategic programme mobilisation and management;
  • Programme Design Authority, benefits assurance;
  • Change / transformation management;
  • Senior relationship management;
  • Strong networking skills and consulting engagement management;
  • Ability to challenge, negotiate and influence;
  • Leading / supporting proposal writing and presentation;


  • Currently operating at Senior Manager level in a consultancy or internal consulting capability;
  • Strong track-record in selling, planning, resourcing and delivering strategic projects;
  • Experience leading teams up to small to medium sized teams, ideally mixed consulting and client delivery;
  • Demonstrable experience of continued personal development and career growth;
  • Contribution to industry / consultancy thought leadership in your field(s);
  • Experience / understanding of Business and Enterprise architecture methodologies
