We are seeking a Project Manager with a strong consulting background and experience in leading and delivering cloud-based solutions to join its dynamic team. Successful candidates should demonstrate leadership and flexibility, as well as the ability to build rapport with clients, team members, managers and senior executives. The individual in this role must be able to deftly apply their project management skills and experience along with Agile methodology to manage teams, proactively mitigate risk, resolve issues and escalate them when appropriate.

Slalom’s Project Managers work across multiple disciplines and industries and must be able to understand their clients’ businesses and build trust quickly. Typical project areas include: leading process or system improvements; custom and packaged system development and implementation; vendor selection; product definition, development, and launch; custom development; and web enablement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical projects through an Agile delivery process
  • Understand the client’s business challenges and be able to work with the Solution Architect to design effective solutions that address the people, process, technology, and data needs to achieve their desired outcomes
  • Work with clients to define scope, solutions, define requirements, develop an executable plan, and identify resource needs, timelines, and costs
  • As required; manage scope, requirements, resources, time, cost, quality, risks, and communications for delivery projects
  • Work in multiple disciplines across industries and build client knowledge and credibility quickly (projects vary in length, lasting anywhere from a few weeks to several months)
  • Conduct project meetings, set and manage client expectations whilst providing innovative solutions to meet challenging delivery goals
  • Manage risk and change effectively within the context of an Agile delivery model
  • Interface with all areas affected by the project, including end user, services organizations, vendors and implementations partners
  • Ensure satisfactory transfer of product upon completion (handoff) and close all project documentation and archive appropriate records

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading projects in a technical environment; must have experience leading projects consisting of 5 or more people, or projects over 10,000 FTE hours or £300,00 in budget
  • Previous experience with technology implementation projects for cloud-based solutions (Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience in all phases of product development from inception and building a business case through workshopping and design to implementation, validation, cut over, and early life support
  • Strong leadership skills, including a history of increasing leadership responsibility and purposeful skill development
  • Able to serve as a liaison between both business and technical teams to drive effective, timely solutions that fulfill both strategic and operational needs
  • Strong investigative, analytical and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Solid knowledge in software delivery: Agile, Scrum, Kanban
  • Familiarity with Jira and other similar Agile delivery toolsets
