Systems Engineer

Slalom, LLC is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and improving core infrastructure technologies, process, and documentation for Slalom, LLC. Responsibilities will include systems engineering, information security, and cloud infrastructure services (AWS-AZURE), and much more. This individual will be knowledgeable in security best practices, have an opinion on new and emerging technologies, and take a creative approach to resolving issues. They will develop strong working relationships with both internal and external Slalom teams and Slalom leadership through excellent communication skills. A successful candidate will be hands on and have the desire to help in all areas of Information Technology. They will be experienced in delivering projects from technical design, implementation, all the way through to operational support handoff. She/He will have the ability to work in a strong team-oriented environment.

You may be a candidate for this role if:

  • Deploy and maintain global IT infrastructure across 27+ US, Canada, and UK offices
  • Proactively monitor and maintain global Infrastructure and service uptime
  • Identify automation opportunities and assist in their implementation across global infrastructure
  • Implement and support complex IT projects and enhancements
  • Provide knowledgebase articles to the support team and advanced their technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Work closely with the Information Security team to implement security requirements across IT infrastructure
  • Make suggestions for IT Infrastructure improvements that are in line with business requirements
  • Act as a top tier escalation point for priority 1 outages


  • 5+ years of experience in IT, including Help Desk, Admin, and Engineering functions
  • 3+ years of experience working in a systems engineering role delivering projects (required)
  • Proven experienced in installing, deploying, monitoring and troubleshooting network and server hardware, operating systems, and services related to core infrastructure systems (both IaaS and on prem), such as:
    • Authentication (cert, mfa, radius, ect)
    • PKI
    • Encryption
    • Email
    • Monitoring
    • Backup and DR
  • Experience deploying standard systems and network configurations for small to large office spaces
  • Familiar with modern solutions in both AWS and Azure IaaS/PaaS environments
  • Fluency in building, managing, troubleshooting, and configuring Microsoft technologies
  • Proven experience in resolving escalated outages
  • Experience documenting designs, process and procedures
  • Ability to defend technical decisions but remain open to team input
  • Flexible, willing to work off-hours when required
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment
  • Knowledge of security best practices
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Team player with monster collaboration skills
  • Willing and excited to travel for work
