Healthcare Consultant

Slalom Consulting is seeking experienced project managers and business analysts with healthcare industry knowledge and a strong consulting background to join its growing Healthcare/Life Sciences practice. The consultants in this practice are part of a dynamic team, bringing the best business and technology solutions together to meet the demands of the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Each team member must be able to deftly apply skills and methodology to manage others, proactively mitigate risks, resolve issues, and escalate projects when appropriate.


  • 5+ years of experience leading projects in the healthcare industry, preferable in a consulting capacity or firm 
  • Ability to drive process improvement programs with physicians and care delivery personnel
  • Experience working with healthcare executive leadership in developing road maps and requirement gathering
  • Excellent understanding of related healthcare industry and key business drivers 
  •  Ability to drive process improvement programs
  • Business understanding of technologies and processes used by healthcare providers, life sciences, EMR optimization, revenue cycle management, etc.
  • Proven track record of client satisfaction and delivery of technical healthcare projects 
  • Skilled at analyzing complex issues and distilling concepts to clients
  • Able to proactively identify risks, and drive action to mitigate and resolve issues
  •  Able to serve as a liaison between both business and technical teams to drive effective, timely solutions that fulfill both strategic and operational needs
  • Communicates effectively and tactfully with all levels of client personnel and consulting staff 
  • Extensive problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification
  • A Master's degree in health policy and administration, public policy, public health or equivalent is preferred
  • Training in and experience using a formal project management methodology and deliverables at an enterprise-level client or employer
