Data & Analytics Practice Area Lead

What will you be doing at Slalom?

Driving sales and operations for a rapidly growing practice area.

Mentoring and developing consultants of all skill and experience levels.

Solving our clients most critical and difficult problems with cloud based modern data architectures and advanced analytics.

Being an integral part in helping to build our Data & Analytics practice.

Building innovative solutions on data platforms to support our clients, helping them fully leverage and organize their enterprise data to drive advanced analytics.

Working with a fun, collaborative team where everyone can be themselves and are provided the opportunity to love their work and life.

Who are you?

You are a smart, servant leader, who takes ownership and gets things done. You plan, but you are cool with improvisation. You are highly adaptable and willing to wear several hats. You are just as comfortable leading large teams as you are getting into the code. You driven by solving your client’s issues and dedicated to building an engaged and connected team. You can see and communicate solutions to our client’s most complex problems. You are comfortable solving highly critical problems for some of most recognized organizations in the world. You bring your passion to work.

You come from a reporting, data warehousing, or ETL background, but your focus is now on architecting cloud and analytics and leading teams to implement them. You thrive in a client-facing consulting environments and have a proven track record of building relationships to develop business.

You are comfortable presenting complex analytic solutions to an executive audience. You bring a healthy mixture of data enthusiast and business consultant to help clients in HR, Sales, Finance and others see how an analytics-driven solution can transform their business. You have experience developing reporting or analytics solutions in AWS, GCP, Azure, or Hadoop and have a passion for learning new and emerging technologies in the space. You’re excited to bring your A-game to work with clients that are leaders in cloud, machines learning and modern data architectures – Silicon Valley’s finest.

Qualifications

  • Experience on any of the cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud)
  • Hands-on development using and migrating data to cloud platforms
  • Proficiency in relational database design and development
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience with big data technologies
  • Experience in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go
  • Proficiency with both Linux and Windows
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to solve business problems
  • Passionate about learning new technologies

Preferred Experience:

  • 10+ years of data architecture, business intelligence and/or consulting experience
  • Cloud platform certification(s) (example: AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
  • MS, or equivalent, in Math, Computer Science or an applied quantitative field
  • Experience with data mining techniques and working with data-intensive applications
  • Experience working with various verticals (e.g., technology, life sciences, healthcare, financial services, retail, etc.)
