Slalom Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our Los Angeles practice area for product leadership. As part of the Technology Advisory practice, Products and Innovations team, you will act as a product owner for our clients in the Los Angeles area, and you will help build a center of excellence in product ownership for Slalom Consulting. As a product owner, you will have the unique opportunity to explore different industries such as media & entertainment, healthcare, energy, retail, financial services and tech.


What You’ll Do

Product Owners work to understand high-level business requirements through customer interviews, user data, workshopping with business stakeholders, and/or working with their Product Managers to understand roadmap goals/strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for distilling these high-level requirements into a backlog of easy-to-understand user stories that enable the development team to know what problems need to be solved and how to build the right solution. 


As a product owner within our Technology Advisory practice you will: 


  • Create and maintain the product backlog of features and user stories, managing the day-to-day of agile product development
  • Provide vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders throughout the product development process
  • Prioritize the backlog according to business value and alignment with strategy
  • Inspect the product’s progress during each iteration and accepting or rejecting work based on acceptance criteria you have helped define
  • Play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Collaborate with product management, user experience, technology leaders, and business stakeholders on product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
  • Keep current on Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience, including 3 or more years managing product-centric software projects; must have experience working across teams of developers, experience designers and data engineers
  • 1+ years’ experience using and prioritizing hypothesis-based A/B testing to improve performance of products
  • Experience conducting User Acceptance Tests (UAT), analyzing data, and testing results to ensure integrity is maintained throughout the product lifecycle
  • Solid knowledge in software delivery: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP and Lean
