Job Title: Cloud Architect

Slalom Boston is looking for an ambitious and talented architect to join our growing Software Engineering & Cloud team. You will advise and partner with clients to solve their business problems by demonstrating both business and technical knowledge across cloud platforms. You will work closely with client stakeholders and delivery teams to guide architecture decisions, and provide advice and expertise as a technical cloud specialist. Your focus will be on providing customer value while crafting technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build cloud-based solutions with DevOps and automation principles in an agile environment
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and support the creation of a development-ready backlog
  • Experience recommending cloud application patterns to clients in all development scenarios
  • Take ownership of key tactical architectural decisions within a workstream
  • Produce clean, well-documented code, with embedded unit tests, following development standard methodologies
  • Stay up-to-date on meaningful new technologies and produce thought leadership content to improve the Slalom brand
  • Identify and advance technical project risks early to ensure successful outcomes
  • Conduct POC work to validate proposed technical approaches and test new technologies

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of experience building stateless, scalable applications in Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience writing software in one or more languages such as C#, Java, NodeJS, Python, PHP or similar
  • Experience with ORM technologies Hibernate, EntityFramework, Mongoose ODM
  • Familiarity with micro-service architectures is helpful
  • Familiarity with container services such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with Gitflow and Scrum development processes preferred
