Job Title: Temporary Benefits Specialist

Slalom’s fast-paced, highly collaborative Total Rewards team is seeking a temporary Benefits Coordinator to support the team’s daily operations and the organization’s overall growth. In this role, you will work closely with the Benefit team, other HR, operations, finance team, and our external partners in support of the company’s health, well-being, life, disability, and related programs. Leveraging your customer centric focus, comfort with information and analytics, and strong attention to detail, you will work collaboratively to ensure that Slalom’s team Members can thrive while ensuring that operational, financial, and compliance needs are met.

You will report to a Benefits manager and be part of a 7-member team working with over 8,000 team members across 30 US locations.

Currently Slaloms offices are all closed. Should you be with Slalom when the offices re-open, it is expected that you will need to be in the office 3 to 4 days per week. The majority of the Total Rewards team is based in Slalom’s headquarters in Seattle, but we are open to a range of office locations for the right candidate.


  • Develop a full understanding of Slalom’s health, life, disability and medical plans and services.
  • Assist employees in solving day to day claim problems, handle benefit questions, serve as liaison between insurance carriers and employees with benefit issues.
  • Coordinate the filing, processing, and reconciliation of vendor invoices in coordination with the Total Rewards team, HR Operations, Finance, and Slalom’s external partners.
  • Verify eligibility for benefits programs and audit benefits information for accuracy.
  • Review benefits data entries, processing and queries with Slalom’s HR platform, Workday.
  • Support auditing, reporting, and compliance efforts through tracking, reporting and trend analysis.
  • Embrace new challenges and take initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and confidential data.
  • Other benefit and HR projects as assigned.

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ Years’ experience in employee benefits with a focus on health and welfare plans.
  • Familiarity with benefits laws and regulations, such as ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education or experience.
  • Strong analytical and data skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR databases, such as Workday or Oracle.
  • A team player.
