Job Title:

Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

As a cloud solution architect with Slalom Consulting, you will be responsible for designing and delivering innovative solutions for our Phoenix clients. Your duties may include interacting with various business groups helping to define needs and translating those needs into customized solutions delivering long-term value to our clients. As a trusted partner, you will, for example, be in a position to advise clients on the relative merits of working within their current infrastructure or implementing new strategies in the cloud.

Slalom’s consultants have a variety of roles at client sites. You may work solely in development, helping architect and design a solution, or serve as a lead, managing the productivity of a development team. You will help clients understand and implement application development strategies by designing solutions that deliver measurable business value, using cutting-edge technologies in the cloud.


  • Design, implement and test technology solutions in cloud and on-prem platforms
  • Provide expert knowledge on best practices as it relates to architecture and deploying technology solution
  • Work as a member of the client team and/or Slalom project team
  • Work as an individual contributor or technical lead


  • A well rounded view of cloud services in AWS or Azure
    • Ability to explain purposes and uses
    • Ability to explain the differences between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of networking including VPCs, Subnets, EC2s, and routing
  • Able to speak on best practices for AWS or Azure regarding initial account setup, governance, and architecture
    • Ex: AWS well-architected landing zone
  • Ability to articulate the benefits of infrastructure-as-code and to put into practice
    • Ex: ARM templates, CloudFormation, Terraform
  • Configuration management using Ansible, DSC, Puppet, or Chef
  • Basic to intermediate PowerShell or Bash scripting
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and using tools such as Azure DevOps, CodePipeline/CodeDeploy, Jenkins
  • Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Familiar with traditional database technologies: SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle
  • Intermediate knowledge of federated security models and Active Directory
  • Have worked in an Agile environment
  • Comfortable with driving and defining requirements, working with business personnel
