DevSecOps Practice Area Lead

What You'll Do

You will be helping grow and lead a team of engineers who focus their passion on building and automating security into the fabric of modern, cloud-native applications. You will be leading projects to help build secure software delivery strategies and systems, automate compliance validation of environments, and help our clients securely solve their most complex engineering problems. You will bring a security engineering lens to cross-functional teams as we co-create the modern software product of tomorrow with our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Continue to build our modern DevSecOps practice, by growing our team and contributing to cutting edge solutions for secure, compliant, born in the cloud products for our clients.
  • Being the hands-on security lead working directly with clients and our teams, accountable for the design and delivery of advanced DevSecOps capabilities.
  • Designing with our clients the modern security practices in future state cloud architectures that will ensure their success.
  • Developing case studies, training materials, and provide guidance for solution components.
  • Developing and building out DevSecOps approaches, skills and knowledge within your team
  • Leading and/or participating in both internal and external Slalom events or initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering and DevOps experience. At least 2 of those years with a focus on securing environments and the software delivery process.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and help engineers grow through coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience building high performing teams through recruiting and hiring engineering talent.
  • Deep AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud experience in a production environment (e.g. architecture, network, security, deployment, automation, and operational technologies).
  • Deep understanding of the implications behind software security bugs.
  • Experience designing and implementing end to end Continuous Delivery pipelines, Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with threat modeling frameworks such as STRIDE, DREAD, and FAIR.
  • Familiarity with dynamic and static software analysis tools such as OWASP ZAP, Arachni, Checkmarx.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPPA, NIST, FedRAMP.
  • Demonstrated growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems.
  • Ability to communicate with clients on a business level and translate their needs into a technical solution.
  • Experience working with technology partners and building technology partnerships
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to lead customer workshops and presentations
  • B.S. in Computer Science, related fields or commensurate work experience
  • Expected Travel is 25%-50% in this role.
